Corey James Grubb

Corey James Grubb a Folk/Country/Blues musician from Mountain Home, played Mesquite Creek Outfitters in Caldwell Friday night. Corey has some impressive musical tricks up his sleeve like some fancy guitar picking and a pretty mean harmonica. Here’s a song about things he needs to quit.

Dave Nudo

On Halloween night, Dave Nudo dressed up as Andrew Chappell (who was in the house) and took to the stage at The 112 in Nampa. In tow, was Dave’s friend Wolfman on the cajon. It was a wild night of country music with lots of dancing and a costume contest. Here’s Dave’s song “Fresh Ground” which can be heard on the TouchTunes app, which is a virtual jukebox.

The Moody Jews

The Moody Jews plays high-energy klezmer (Eastern European) music, jazz, Sephardic and Israeli tunes. This band was so much fun and there was so much variety in their music. Here is a heavenly tune they did Saturday night at Swirl Wine Shop and Lounge in downtown Nampa.

Synergy Jazz

Synergy Jazz is singer Mary Raft Knea, husband bassist Rick Knea and guitarist Steve Prager. Specializing in jazz standards plus jazzed-up pop and country tunes, they performed Friday evening at Swirl Wine Shop and Lounge in Downtown Nampa. Here’s one of my favorite songs made popular by Dusty Springfield and Dionne Warwick.

Ashley Rose

Ashley Rose is a jazz & soul-infused Americana musician based in Boise. She, and her friend Tim Green performed an evening of jazz standards at Swirl Wine Shop and Lounge in downtown Nampa. I’ve always loved the Billie Holiday classic “God Bless the Child”, and this duo really did it justice. Sadly, I LOST the video! :-(

Guitarist to the Stars, Gary Tackett and percussionist Grant Green, played Bourbon & Blues night at Maddie’s Wine and Whiskey Thursday evening. Gary is influenced by the powerful Electric and Acoustic work of Eric Clapton and the heartfelt songwriting of Merle Haggard. Speaking of Merle, here’s one of his songs, “Workin’ Man Blues”.
