Jordan Shaw

Jordan Shaw writes and performs country music that pays respect to 90’s country themes, while infusing a contemporary influence. It was amazing watching him connect with his audience at The 122 in Nampa Thursday evening. Jordan can rockabilly with the best of them, but when he said he was going to do a song he wrote for his wife, whom he has not met yet, I knew immediately THAT was the song I wanted to share with y’all.

Ryan Curtis

Ryan Curtis is an old school honky tonk artist from Boise who played “Tuesdays on the Creek” last night at The Indian Creek Plaza, in Caldwell. The swing dancers were is good form during this concert! Here’s a song about growing up in a small town in Michigan.

John Jones

John Jones, a jazz guitarist and vocalist from Boise, played Indian Creek Winery Sunday afternoon. He performed mostly jazz standards along with music from Bill Withers, George Benson, The Crusaders, Diana Krall, James Taylor, Ray Charles, The Beatles, and The Eagles. Now, John is pretty old-school. You won’t find him on social media or even the web. You can reach out to him at his MSN email address below. :-) Even though it was out of season, I captured his version of Autumn Leaves.

Vibeka

Vibeka (vee-becca) is a “home grown Idaho tater tot” and singer/songwriter from Boise. Inspired by a recent trip to Nashville, she’s been writing like crazy, and spending time in the studio with her boys laying down some tracks. They should be trickling out in the next few months. As she played Rembrandt’s in Eagle Saturday evening, I captured “Boys in Boots”.

Slaglebois Band

Slaglebois Band, made up of Dave and Doug Slagle, played everything from Bluegrass, to The Blues, to Classic Rock, at Crescent Brewery in Nampa Friday evening. Not far into the first set, they played one of my favorites from Pure Prairie League.

J.R. & The Stingrays

J.R. & The Stingrays opened the 2024 season of the Third Thursdays block party in Downtown Nampa last night. The weather was PERFECT and my favorite part of the evening was a line dance that broke out.

Casio Dreams

The Tuesday hangout for 20 weeks of the year is up and running again! I’m talking about “Tuesdays on the Creek” at Indian Creek Plaza in Caldwell. Casio Dreams, an 80’s tribute band based in Boise, opened the 2024 season last night, much to the delight of dancers of all ages.

Avery Sologa

Avery Sologa, an Alt-Country singer/songwriter from Boise, played The 112 in Nampa Saturday evening. The place was pretty empty when he started, but as people passed by the open front door, they came in and stayed a while. Avery performed mostly covers, but tossed in this original: I Miss When I Was Young.

Steve Celi

Steve Celi, who is part of Dark Desert Highway (an Eagles tribute band), played a perfect Spring evening at Vintage 61 Wine Bar & Kitchen in Meridian on Thursday. He played music from Elton John, Eagles, Lionel Richie, Billy Joel, Bill Withers, Bobby Caldwell, and more. Steve has the digital goods to make the music sound great, but somehow, he left his harmonica at home!! Here’s one of my favorite songs from James Taylor.

Nick Mattera

Nick Mattera is a singer and songwriter with a sound of hope, dreams, love and heart. He played Maddie’s Wine and Whiskey Wednesday evening, performing an impressive set of music from the likes of Counting Crows, America, Tears for Fears, Human League, and this one from Fleetwood Mac, with a little help from his friend Ryan Yost.
